Porsche European Open Betting Tips
The week after The Open is always likely to be a quiet one, but one that offers opportunity. While the likes of Rory and Jason Day are spending their days nursing massive hangovers and smashing balls into the Thames, some of the lesser lights have an opportunity to turn their season’s around. If ever there was a week, then this is one to look for some great betting tips!
The European Open seems to get shunted around the schedule like a naughty stepchild. Having suffered the loss of one round last year, they’ll be hopeful that the move from September will work out for them. Initially seeing the odds of the favourites, I thought that we might be in for a bonanza week – but then I saw that Austin Connelly was 50/1 and my heart sank.
There are plenty of players that need to get their house in order and this is the perfect opportunity, but picking the right one is going to be a tough job!
Porsche European Open Tips:
Patrick Reed 14/1 – Stake £10 e/w Potential return £195
The abrasive American really didn’t give himself much chance with his preparations for The Open. Just rocking up on Tuesday tells me that he didn’t really fancy it! What he will fancy however, is lauding it over a pretty budget field this week. The course is right in his wheelhouse. He’ll feel like the big man and will no doubt draw on the confidence of four top 20 finishes from his last 4 PGA Tour starts.
Alex Levy 25/1 – Stake £10 e/w Potential return £332.50
The defending champion returns off the back of an indifferent run. He was the beneficiary of the rain last year, winning over just 3 rounds. That said, he did go absolutely nuts in those 3 rounds! The Frenchman looks to be lapping up the love on the range in Germany this week, so we expect this to translate into good golf.
Richie Ramsay 33/1 – Stake £10 e/w Potential return £432.50
He’s made a bit of money these past few weeks, hasn’t he? He’ll be buzzing about returning to a tournament in which he only played one round last year! Typically, he’s a streaky player so we reckon he’s got a couple more good money earning weeks left in him before a rest in anticipation of a good finish. Everything is working well for him at the moment and this course couldn’t fit his game any more.
Lucas Bjerrgaard 80/1 – Stake £10 e/w Potential return £1020
This guy owes me! Having knifed a chip into my shin in Scotland a couple of weeks ago, he promised to make it up to me with a big finish next time he plays on the continent. Well, here’s your chance Lucas!
Chase Koepka 80/1 – Stake £5 e/w Potential return £510
The US Open winner’s brother was hotter than a fresh brew earlier in the season. Having spent last week cheering on his big bro, he’s chomping at the bit to secure his European Tour Card and is much fancied to break his big leagues duck!
Marcel Siem 100/1 – Stake £5 e/w Potential return £635
Quite possibly the most volatile player on tour. He’s been hitting it like a dog all season, but I’ve got a feeling. It might be wind, but a feeling is a feeling!
