2019 US Open betting tips from Urban Golf

The US Open at Pebble Beach – a gift to golf fans. We’re looking for brutes off the tee combined with culture on the greens in our picks for the third major of the year.

Brooks Koepka leads the betting after his masterful performance at the PGA Championship but we’re looking past him and at Dustin Johnson for this one. Devastatingly long and possessing a hot streak with the putter, when his wedge game fires DJ is frightening for the field and is coming in at 8/1. He hasn’t had his A-game in 2019 but he’s still be up there a lot, including at the Masters, which speaks volumes.

We’re not going anywhere near Tiger I’m afraid, and we don’t think Rory McIlroy will trouble the scorers  – rather we’re looking down the field at Rickie Fowler who can be picked up for 25/1. The California kid is one of the best putters on Tour and performs well in majors – whether he can get over the line is the question.

Another youngster in Xander Schauffele has caught our interest at 28/1. He doesn’t seem to get fazed by the big occasion and knows how to plot his way around a golf course.

Hideki Matsuyama comes into this slightly under the radar but he has the game to win it and is enjoying great form heading to Orange County. His putting is an area of his game that can sometimes come undone, but there are few better ball strikers on Tour. He can be found at 30/1.
