Role of the bagman examined in film 'Loopers: the caddie's long walk'

The profession of caddying slides under the microscope in a new documentary film ‘Loopers: the caddie’s long walk’.

Comedian, former bagman and general golf lover Bill Murray is employed for the voice over, alongside cameos from players such as Tom Watson, Curtis Strange and Lee Trevino.

The work looks at the birth of the profession, how it evolved and what the job title encompasses but most of all the relationships between player and caddie.

“What was so striking as we went about this was the complexity and uniqueness of the bonds that develop between caddies and players,” says Loopers director Jason Baffa. “Soon enough it became pretty clear that we were actually making a buddy film.”

The film explores their importance and differing roles caddies play. Undoubtedly, viewers will garner more respect for the job.
