No-one seems to know how or why an obscure caraway-infused liquor from the Baltics became associated with golf, but you'll find a bottle of Kummel behind the bar at all the great golf clubs of the British Isles (and naturally here at Urban Golf too).

It's usually served as a digestif, thrown down after a long lunch before a rush to the tee for the afternoon round of a 36-hole day. But our new head barman Cosmin has used it to create October's cocktail of the month: The Silver Bullet.

Mix two parts gin to one part Kummel and add lemon juice - the gin is powerful enough to take the edge of the Kummel's distinctive sweetness, creating a drink that packs a punch but is surprisingly smooth.

We use a small-batch Scottish gin called Caorunn and Kummel from our friends at Birdie Spirits.
